A Home Divided

The other day the Lord revealed something to me in a dream. Of course at the time it didn’t make much sense but as I began my search for God to reveal the meaning – things began to unfold.

Dream – February 2011

Night had settled and it seemed strange that I would be traveling in an unknown area with someone I didn’t know. A man took me to a house and I understood in the dream that he needed to show me something. The house was small and at first glance I could see light coming through the cracks of it. The box like house was made of wood planks and the light glimmered through the cracks. I thought it strange that it was not sealed very well.

The man and I got out of the vehicle and he walked me over to an area where the darkness was even stronger. We lay prostrate on the cold ground and watched the house from a distance. I could see a security guard on top of the roof holding a rifle. Behind him was a man dressed in regular clothing.

The man with me tapped on my arm to get my attention. I looked his way and he pointed up to the top of the roof where the guard stood. On the ground walking around the house was another guard with a gun. I saw the guard on the ground turn and shoot the guard on the roof. The guard on the roof fell to the ground and the man who had been standing behind him nodded his head at the guard on the ground – almost as if to say, “Good job.”

I understood at that moment that the guard on the ground had been in disguise. He pretended to be guarding the house – but shot the real guard. I also understood that there was something going on in the house that was evil.

We lay very still as the footsteps approached us. They were looking for us. I could hear the men on the ground coming our way and coming very close. I was almost afraid but understood that I was covered and concealed so that they could not see me. After a moment they left.

Next Scene:

I saw two women with bullet holes in their cheeks. They were dead. One had more holes in her face than the other. I wasn’t sure how it was all connected.

Sunday February 19, 2011

I had been aware of Lisa (name changed) and Julie’s (name change) conflict. It had been going on for quite some time and my husband and I had been praying for them both as well as for their family. We had also spent time with them helping them to sort through their issues. It was a difficult situation.

After church one of the ladies approached me and shared a part of the newest conflict between the two. That last week they had one of the worst fights they had ever had. As one woman began to share what happened during the fight, the Lord suddenly reminded me of the dream.

The two women I saw in the dream were these two women! The bullet holes in their cheeks were a symbol of their words, gossip, and slander they had been exchanging between each other. They were spiritually and emotionally dead. The Lord revealed to me that their home was under attack. Everything began to unfold!

In urgency I felt God telling me that I needed to share with the women what he revealed to me. I gathered them both and began to share about my dream. They both accepted it and understood the revelation. They both agreed that they have been feeling an oppression and darkness over their house. (they lived in the same house)

I shared that God revealed that the protection of the house had been removed – that they needed to pray against the enemy who had come against their home and against them. They needed to pray and ask God to come in and take back the territory they had released to the enemy.

We spoke of the conflict and that though they appeared to be fighting each other – the real wrestle was against the enemy and against the principalities of darkness. We spoke of how they needed to join forces and begin to saturate the house in prayer and love for one another. They both agreed! They understood that two are stronger than one. They understood that their fighting was futile. They understood that they do love one another. I shared that in my quiet time, just the day before, I read that “a house divided against itself will fall.” They understood that their battle should not be against each other but against the enemy. Immediately the two of them found common ground. They rose up with a willingness and urgency to stop fighting against one another and to start fighting for their home, family, and for each other.

We joined hands – huddled close – and began to pray a strong prayer of protection over them as well as deliverance – and healing for the wounds they both had received from one another. God is good! We will continue to pray. Today is a new day! Today they begin again.
